BACKGROUND
Arak de Kefraya is a traditional Lebanese white spirit distilled four times using the Armagnac method across three different traditional copper stills. The third distillation takes place in a Charentais still in the presence of fresh green anise from Syria, concentrating the aniseed aromas. The spirit is free of methanol as a result of its quadruple distillation process. Arak has been produced in the Bekaa Valley since the 11th century and is considered a pillar of Lebanese gastronomic heritage.
